Chen graduated from Louisiana State University with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and a master’s degree in Applied Statistics. On the dry-lab side, his project focuses on applying Evolutionary Action with statistical methods or machine learning algorithms to identify genes under selection pressure in bacteria. On the wet-lab side, he is responsible in sequencing data generation and experimentally validating candidate driver genes.
