Graduate Student

Andrew is a graduate student in the quantitative & computational biosciences program at BCM. He has a BS in Biology and a BA in Music and Chemistry from Santa Clara University in California. At SCU, he studied the tradeoff between thermostability and function of proteins by using all-atom, explicit solvent molecular dynamics simulations of a native DNA-binding protein, EnHD, and engineered variants. In the Lichtarge lab, he is looking for novel risk genes in complex diseases using genome sequencing data and population-scale electronic health records.
