Lauren is a graduate student in the Department of Molecular & Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. She became interested in genetics at a young age when one of her family members was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease. While pursuing her BS in biology at George Washington University, she was fascinated by the complexity of the immune system and autoimmune disease. Today, cancer genetics is her primary interest as well as the focus of her work. In the future, she hopes to contribute to the development of additional cancer treatments by further investigating the interplay between the immune system and cancer.
